EASTER EGG MAKING WORKSHOP
You are invited to our first annual Ukrainian Easter Egg Making workshop this Palm Sunday,
April 14, from 3:00 pm – 5:30 pm at St. Josaphat Cathedral Church basement 10825 97 Street.
Doors will be open at 2:00 pm (for setup). Please enter through the south facing doors on the
ground level closest to parking lot located on east side of church. The Easter season upon us
and we can prepare ourselves for the Christ’s Resurrection by sharing in the custom of making
beautiful eggs “Pysanky” for our Easter Basket Blessing!
At this workshop we will learn about the spiritual and cultural significance of the “Pysanka.” Our
instructor, Larissa Pohoreski is well known artist and musician in the Ukrainian community, one
of many talents: she’s an actor, singer, violinist, watercolor artist, Ukrainian dancer, and of
course has an amazing gift for making beautiful Pysanky. So, please join us! Pre-registration is
required so that we know how many participants to expect. TO REGISTER: please email me

Cost: $15 per participant
$10 Children, preferably 6 and over.
Supplies WILL be provided however please bring: 2-3 room temperature eggs, preferably white
shelled for beginners. Bring them in an egg carton (or an egg carton that has been cut down) so
they can be transported home at the end of the workshop. If you have your own writing tools
(kistka), please bring them if you wish. Printed handouts will be available, as well as examples
of Larissa’s own work and eggs in progress to demonstrate how the process works. You may
want to purchase some of her ready-made Pysanky for sale. A few snacks and refreshments will also be provided. Looking forward to a great afternoon with friends!!!
