Lector Francois ProvencalFrançois Provençal

François Provençal is a military Training Development officer originally from Plessisville, Québec.

After Theological studies (B.Th and M.Th) and Seminary time (1988-1992) in Québec city.  He served as a Canadian Forces Chaplain from 1998-2007.  After many postings across Canada ,he was posted to Edmonton in 2013.  He was deployed in Bosnia in 1999.  He was awarded the Queen Diamond Jubilee medal in 2012.

He completed a L.Th in Eastern Christian Studies at St-Paul University in 2013.

François was presented as an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion by Bishop David Motiuk in April 2014.  He currently serves as a religious lector at St-Josphat Cathedral.

Raised in Brampton, Ontario, Cyril joined the Edmonton Eparchy and St. Josaphat’s Cathedral in 2010.

He completed his Bachelor of Theology at Holy Spirit Seminary in Ottawa in 2013, and began a Masters of Theology at Saint Paul University in Ottawa the same year.

He has spent the last four summers in Edmonton, assisting at the Eparchial Summer Camp, except for the summer of 2012, when he went to Lviv to study Ukrainian at the Ukrainian Catholic University.

In November 2012, he was tonsured by Bishop David as a lector (reader) for St. Josaphat Cathedral.
